1. Beautiful retro look! This kind of strap (with the upside-down V that connects to the cup in two places) can be helpful in keeping bra cups from shifting at the top, though it is mainly used for style here.

Found this cute visual bra-fitting guide at Eternal Voyager’s excellent blog Venusian Glow. Top left: most of my size 34 bras end up looking like this by the end of the day!
Some full-busted women find it difficult to get the center gore to sit flat in front like this, even when the fit is otherwise good. But if you’re small-breasted like me, this is a good thing to keep in mind: if your bra doesn’t touch your chest between the cups, odds are it isn’t fitting right.

  3. Blush Decadence Bra and Tap Pant

I wrote this bra shopping guide for Magnifique’s blog. Check out the featured Decadence set by Blush Lingerie, available in size 32A and up.

  4. nearlyalmostlover asked: I've measured myself repeatedly, every three months or so. Apparently no matter how much chocolate I eat I won't get up to a 30 band size. :P

OK, so just to be clear: are you adding anything to the underbust measurement to get your band size, or do you measure 28 inches?

If you measure a 28, you can wear a 30 or possibly even a 32. If you’ve added 2 or 4 to come up with 28, your underbust is indeed very small — but there are petite bras that would probably fit you in a 30.

The Little Bra Company does carry size 28, and their bras are excellent — expensive, yes, but worth the money in my opinion. Their A-cup size also fits AA.

Check out this page to see which bras are available in sizes 28AA and 30AA: http://32aabra.com/shop-by-size

  5. nearlyalmostlover asked: I'm 16 and a 28AA (I think, I'm terrified to get measured professionally in case I turn out to be smaller and can't buy bras that fit!). I live in Britain, and the only place I can find pretty bras that fit me is Primark, and, naturally, the sizing is terrible. I don't want to pay a fortune for bras I like. Any ideas? All google searches have been fruitless.

Hi there! I’d recommend measuring yourself to be sure of your size; I have instructions on how to do this accurately at http://32aabra.com/size-fit. If it turns out you can wear a 30 band, you’ll have a lot more options. Get back to me once you’ve got your measurements, and I’ll be happy to give you some recommendations.

    Thanks! Amanda

I’ll be reviewing this bra by petite-friendly brand Affinitas Intimates soon. It’s part of the Chloe lingerie set, which also includes a matching hipster and corset-style bustier.
Update, 03/07/12: I ended up writing about the bustier instead. I love it! Read the review here. I heard via Affinitas on Twitter (follow @AffinitasIntima) that their Julia and Pamela collections are also good picks for the small-breasted.

Tried on this strapless bra by Lou, and loved it. Perfect fit in the 32A… and it wasn’t stuffed with excessive padding! The one drawback was its $125 price tag.
